Druzhba |2014|

Druzhba Sanatorium is located 8 kilometers from Yalta at the Black Sea coast. The hotel once served as a symbol of cooperation between Soviet and Czech architects and builders. It was opened in 1985 to honour the 40th anniversary of the victory and liberation of Czechoslovakia by the Soviet Army. Hundreds of employees from Czechoslovakia came here through Revolutionary Trade Union Movemement to strenghten the ties with their Soviet comrades. After the annexation of Crimea by Russia the hotel reported a significant visitor drop because of the fear among Ukrainians and Russians. The huge, empty building now has an eerie feeling of a space station rather than of beach hotel.
